hello, my name is alyssa i am 20 almost 21
(oct. 22nd) i have recently separated from
the father of my children and i am trying
to get on my feet as a single mother. i
have two kids. alexis(my daughter) is 3.
silas(my son) is 4 months. we are living
on tanf and food. december of last year i
received my ged diploma and currently i am
working on enrolling myself into a nearby
school to start my career choice to become
a rn. in june we moved from our lakewood,
wa apartment and we are currently living
at my dads house in des moines, wa.
in june of this year our 12month apartment
lease ended and a new company took over
the apartments raising the rent from $675
to $900/mo. how did i pay rent? i had a
roommate and we split rent he paid
utilities for us..
i could not afford to sign a new lease so
i did the only thing i could do at the
time and move in with my dad and start
saving as much of my tanf as i can to find
a new place to call home.. i receive
$480/mo. in cash assistance and $625 in
food.. i don't know exactly what you have
available or were you are located but im
pretty well up for anything, though i
would prefer our own separate areas. i do
not like living at my parents..its to
cramped.. but i do appreciate there help.
i don't think we have to much stuff..my
dad has a two car garage my all stuff fits
in half of one of those.. my son has a
mini crib. my daughter sleeps in a toddler
bed. i have a queen sized bed w/ attached
cabinets..dressers..stuff..lol i am
currently looking for work.. i am a
trustworthy, honest, clean (i recycle..i
strive to live green..love organic!)
friendly, respectful, helpful woman just
trying to take care of my children the
best i can. i am open to making new
friends & trying new things :)
