this is for a 1 bedroom appartment located in the archstone apartment building on georgia ave. this is part of a larger unit that is two stories. this is part of a unique live/work unit, upstairs is a 1 bedroom appt (with it's own entrance, for you) and downstairs has a large open area for work, for me. i would like to seal off the stairs so that i can live downstairs and have my privacy, and subrent the 1 bedroom appt that's upstairs. you get your own entrance, the entire kitchen, all kitchen appliances, living room, bedroom, walk in closet, and your own bathroom, and another closet. ceilings are 9 feet tall in your space. all appliances are new. windows are covered. unit is not furnished (i will move everything downstairs). i will pay for utilities. total unit is roughly 1490 sq feet. upstairs is roughly 700 sq ft. (archstone currently charges over $1500.00 for a 1 bedroom lease, utilities are not included in their lease, and you have to sign a multi-month lease.) located 1 block from the wheaton metro. here is a link to what the 1 bedroom looks like http://www.move.com/apartmentsforrent-detail/11101-georgia-avenue_wheaton_md_20902_c496907 (mine is painted white, and is not furnished). i have been here since 2004 and have been the only tenant in this unit. my current lease expires june 11, 2011. there is a phone line but i use it for work and can't share it, but can cover other utilities. i should be able to share the internet access. you won't have access to the washer/dryer, as i want my privacy, but there's one down the street. i'll cover the basic utilities (electric, water, gas). the building charges $80.00/mo for a parking space if you need one. i currently pay $2390.00/mo + utilities, so i think 50% is fair as you get the kitchen to yourself, and utilities are free, and you go month to month. the only way i'll do this is if i can seal off the stairway with a section of drywall (or the like) to prevent access to my space. i need my own privacy and i'm looking for someone who wants to have their own space. i just talked to the community manager and they were ok with the roommate but they will require a credit/background check. they will require you to be liable on the lease, but we can draw up a contract that makes me liable so you can go month to month, as such, i'll pay the rent to archstone, and you pay me. accordingly, i want the cost of one month's rent as a refundable security deposit to reduce my risk. you can leave at any time with but please give me 30 day notice. i am looking for someone who is quiet, preferably a professional. not sure why the photo won't center to my face, when you click it it will show my face! excuse the long message. please let me know if you have any questions.
