we are looking for someone to fill the third bedroom in a 3 bed/2 bath apartment two blocks from both union station and h st corridor. the apartment is on the third floor of a three-story building; the first two floors are small offices and there are only two apartments on the third level. we share a large balcony with our neighbors and there’s a grill and patio furniture out there already. you would have your own room and share the hallway full bath with one other person. the room has a decently-sized closet and there is a larger, walk-in hallway closet that you will also have more than half of. the room has two large, east-facing windows and easily fits a full-sized bed with a desk and chest of drawers. we have a large, open-concept living/dining room with a working fireplace (which is great in the winter to roast marshmallows on) and a big, bright kitchen with lots of storage. there are hardwood floors throughout all the common spaces and carpet in the bedrooms. there’s also a washer/dryer in the apartment as well as a dishwasher, both of which are pretty great. fyi, there is also a super friendly, adorable kitten living in the apartment, so if you’re allergic sadly this probably isn’t the place for you.

we’re both female in our early/mid-twenties. ideally you’d be a young professional or recent college grad. we’re pretty open to anyone as long as you’re clean, somewhat neat, and are relatively social. we usually host a weekly dinner or two with our neighbors and a few friends, but nothing too large or rowdy. we’re definitely respectful of each other’s schedules and would hope for the same in a potential roommate.

rent/timeframe: rent is $1250/month, including water and excluding utilities. electricity and internet/cable run about $50-90/month depending on the season. the room is currently empty as our roommate left jan 1st. we would like to have someone move in feb 1st, but if you would want to move in as soon as possible, we would pro-rate the rent for january. we are currently looking for someone to be here through the month of february with the possibility to extend month-to-month or sign a year-long lease at a lower monthly cost. you will have to submit an application and credit check to the landlord, but there’s no fee :)
