the room is a quite spacious 17.5 x 9 ft bedroom.we are looking for a housemate to share a three bedroom townhouse in the eastern market neighborhood. it's on a quiet, tree-lined street with plenty of parking, but only a couple minutes walk to barracks row, 4 residential blocks from the metro. it is right of 10th street and across from the school.
the house has lovely living and dining rooms, and it is bright and full of natural light. the common rooms are all nicely furnished, and the kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. the appliances (stove, microwave, etc) were brand new when we moved in in the fall, and it has in-unit washer and dryer. the house has an attached patio, great for grilling in warm weather.
the available bedroom has three large, south-facing windows. the previous roommate will leave a free mattress and ikea drawers if wanted.
the rent is $1050 plus 1/3 of utilities (internet, gas and electricity, water, insurance). the utilities average about $65-$100 per person, per month, depending on the season. we are also open to reducing the rent somewhat if you will not be in residence full time, for example if you are in dc 3-4 days per week on work, but live elsewhere on weekends.

we are a scientist from california working for the federal government and a consultant from pennsylvania who is a great cook. we're looking for housemates who will help make the house a cheerful, clean, respectful place to live. we try to be environmentally responsible around the house in a low key way (for example using cloth napkins instead of paper). no smoking, no drugs.
