hi everyone! i'm looking to fill my room by july 1 (not really negotiable, as that's when my new lease starts). the rent is $1050/month, with 1 month security deposit and the utilities split 4 ways between the roommates.the room is massive with a ceiling fan, two closets (one with floor-length mirrors), 4 windows, and a separate a/c unit just in case the central air doesn't cool it down enough (which it usually does). the bathroom connects to the room and is shared with one other roommate, which has never been an issue for either of us.
the house is an older house, but with lots of charm! it has also been updated, and has fairly new appliances (all of the normal things - dishwasher, disposal, oven, stove, microwave, etc.). also, 2 fridges! we have a working, wood-burning fireplace in the living room that is fantastic for those chilly winter days, and tons of exposed brick in the living room and kitchen. we also have a big tv with cable and appletv, and a washer/dryer in unit!
the roommates are all friendly and good people, mostly 20-something professionals.
the location is amazing. you are within 2 or 3 blocks of toki underground, maketto, h&pizza, taylor gourmet, little miss whiskeys, bullfrog bagels, star & shamrock, copycat, sticky rice, cusbah, biergarten haus, redrocks, kitty's saloon, and a ton of other things that i'm probably forgetting right now.
as far as transportation, you're in walking distance (15 minutes) of union station, and there are tons of buses that go downtown, to dupont, and even to georgetown. i take the x2 to chinatown every day for work (the stop is about 2 blocks from the house) and that's worked out great. there is also a ton of street parking if you have a car - i've almost always been able to find a spot right in front of the house.
