hello,my name is derek, for 3+ years that i've lived at 421 asher st. in lafayette, indiana, the house has been hosted as a long term hostel of sorts for international scholars and professionals, but of course we're open to hosting locals as well. we rent single rooms "shared rooms is a possibility" and folks are free to stay for as long as they sign on for, minimum of 1 month up to 1 year lease with renewal being an option.
two of our current roommates christian from germany and alex from china will be leaving us at the end of december of 2015 and we will have a few rooms open to rent.
the house has 1 large kitchen, 2 baths, laundry facilities, 5 bedroom, (3 rooms are very large able to fit 2 queen beds in each) and one amazing view overlooking lafayette and west lafayette in a quiet part of downtown on the tippy top of asher hill next to murdoch park. it originally was built in 1882 by mr. asher himself and was fully renovated and updated in 2010. it's energy efficient, safe, and peaceful (plans for a garden and powered of renewable energy/tesla fuel cells are in the works.)
rent for 1 furnished room is $400.00/month ($230.00 deposit required) but this listing is for a large two room master suite and is 420.00/month and that currently includes utilities, 75/75 mps fiber-optic cat5 internet and wifi, cable tv, and every channel dtv satellite offers on stream, fair share of a fully stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, parking, and common areas (dining room, living room, study, front and backyard.
no smoking is allowed inside the house and everyone must do their fair share of cleaning and replacement of common goods of necessity like dish soap and toilet paper. our home is open to any woman or man whom can abide by these simple requests and live in peace no matter the background, origin, or customs of fellow roommates.
