hello there! we are a friendly, full-time working couple with an extra room in a 2 bedroom in newport, jersey city, nj. after living in manhattan for years, we decided to take the leap across the hudson. the apartment is huge!having also lived in brooklyn and traveled to visit friends in the other boroughs, the location is better than most places. the path train is just around the corner from the building, literally - you step out the door, cross the street and wham! you're there. better yet, it is one stop from manhattan.
did i mention the path train is also cheaper than a monthly metrocard? or that you can save hundreds a month just by not living in nyc (nyc has this thing called the ny city tax which you may have noticed on your pay stubs)?
the living room is 34 feet long by 12 feet wide, and the bedroom is almost 17 ft. x 11 ft and 1 inch with a big closet. it's the biggest bedroom.
a little about the building: high-rise doorman building offering a gym (same price as manhattan, but it offers everything you need), a garage (extra, but much cheaper than anything in manhattan) and laundry facilities (kitchen also has a dishwasher).
with how the apartment is divided, you will feel like you are living in your own studio for far less than the price (or space) you would have in manhattan. the bathroom would be shared, but we are very clean people and would expect the same from our future roommate.
we are in our late 20s/early 30s and work in digital. we like to laugh, relax, have a beer/glass of wine, meet up with friends, work out and be healthy.
some things we are looking for in a roommate is another full-time professional who is friendly, clean, respectful of others (doesn't play loud music or movies at night, cleans up after themselves, pays rent on time, for example). we welcome all races and sexual orientation.
